Medical simulation is a powerful force in addressing patient safety through quality training. By offering healthcare professionals a safe and "mistake forgiving" environment, they can learn, without jeopardizing real patients.
MSR, the Israel Center for Medical Simulation provides the platform required for training. It is fully dedicated to driving a cultural change in advancing patient- safety through hands-on medical education.
MSR is a unit of the not-for-profit Medical Research Infrastructure Development and Health Services Fund at the Sheba Medical Center. MSR operates on a fee-for-service basis. However, the challenge of incorporating newly developing fields of simulation into the curriculum is great due to prohibitive costs. New simulators and technology are necessary for progressing into developing fields of simulation.
Philanthropy provides for a margin of excellence not obtainable in any other way. It will help ensure that the role that simulation plays in medical education in Israel and abroad will continue to expand, and that its promise of better trained healthcare professionals will benefit patients everywhere.
